Frequently Asked Questions
More than two decades of research in the fields of positive psychology, neuroscience, happiness, mindfulness, and family relationships shows that our bodies and brains work the best when we are positive and flourishing. The science is fascinating and you can learn much more here.
Wellness programs and Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) can be great ways of helping employees improve their health and access professional help during challenging times. Most wellness programs, however, focus narrowly on improving physical health and neglect other aspects such as financial health, relational health, and improving positivity and happiness.
Similarly, EAPs are generally work-based intervention programs designed to assist employees in resolving personal problems that may be negatively affecting employee’s performance at work. In other words, to help when things go wrong. The big kicker? Whilst most businesses offer an EAP, participation rates hover around 6.9%! Compare that to our digital platform – over 65% of our users are active after 12 months of use!
Think of Life Journey On as an Employee Flourishing Program (EFP) that is designed as a prevention platform to help things go RIGHT. All employees can benefit from educational resources or coaching to help improve their relationships, happiness, finances, parenting, nutrition, stress management and so much more.
Consider us your daily habit of flossing and brushing your teeth and EAPs as your visit to the dentist when you have a toothache. Both are needed, but flossing and brushing can prevent future problems! Prevention is a wise investment!
Absolutely! Numerous studies have shown that one of the best investments employers can make is in their employees’ personal and family lives. Research shows that when companies take active measures to boost happiness and positivity in employees by investing in their physical and emotional wellness and reduce stress, return on investment can range between $1.50 and $6.85 for every dollar spent on these types of programs.
It is difficult to measure actual ROI on “softer measures” compared to employee-related expenses. It is much easier to assess Value on Investment (VOI), such as improving morale, positivity, productivity, energy, happiness, engagement, job satisfaction and other outcomes.
Often, the pursuit of ROI turns into a realization that there is incredible value in having healthy, happy employees (VOI). When employee morale and job satisfaction are elevated, the overall mood and culture of the organization improves. With Life Journey On, employees love the way they feel when they have healthy lifestyles and happy relationships.
Providing resources without documenting outcomes isn’t wise. That’s why we have all users complete a baseline survey we developed as part of the orientation process. Then, we invite employees to complete surveys every 4 months to track their progress.
We ask questions about employee well-being, mental and physical health, career development and professional growth, work engagement, relationships at work, views of work culture and job satisfaction, work-life balance and the 8 core areas where we provide resources. And yes, we provide employers with collective progress reports (no names of employees) to track outcomes and improvement.
Yes! Managers can track how many online courses (and which ones) each employee completes (we have more than 290, with a new course added every Monday!). This is tracked in the Tools and Achievements section. We suggest providing incentives and rewards for employees who complete X amount of online courses.
